Open for Worship

Service of Worship

Sundays at 9:30am

in the Church Hall, Station Road

We are thankful to be gathering for worship in St Monans once again.  Worship is on Sunday at 9:30am in the Church Hall, Station Road.  We hope you will be encouraged and book your place to join us.

While the start time of 9.30 am is the same, much has to change and this information provides an outline of what to expect to keep us safe and meet the necessary requirements for welcoming you to worship.

Booking a place

  • Numbers are restricted to 28 in the Church Hall to enable physical distancing.

  • It will be necessary to book a place  This can be done by contacting Duncan Reekie (email:  Bookings will be accepted from Monday to Friday at 5:00pm, prior to the service you wish to attend.  Your attendance will be confirmed on Saturday.

  • If there are less than 28 bookings on any given Sunday, you will be able to turn up and walk in. If you have not booked and there are 28 places reserved, you will not be able to attend the service.

What to bring with you (we are unable to hand anything out)

  • Face covering, you will need to wear it throughout the service

  • Bible, if you wish to follow along with readings

  • Your offering, remember we haven't been collecting offerings for several months

  • A cushion if you need one

Please remember to take your Bible and cushion home at the end of the service

What to expect when you arrive

  • You will be greeted by our Welcome Team. Please follow their directions.

  • Your contact details will be confirmed for test and trace purposes.

  • There will be hand sanitiser available on entry and exit.  Please use it!

  • Your offering will be collected as you enter.

  • We are required to fill the Hall from front to back, following the one way system in place.  You will therefore be directed to a seat.  There will be no choice of seating, so we can enable social distancing.  Members of the same household will be able to sit together.

During the service and departing

  • The service will be an opportunity to worship and praise God, along with other people, though the format is different to what we are used to

  • There may be music, but no singing as this risks spreading the virus more vigorously

  • Exit at the end of the service will continue to follow the one way system.

  • Be mindful of social distancing and not holding others up when leaving by chatting too long.

  • We are unable to serve tea and coffee after the service, due to restrictions.

We realise this means adapting to new processes and forms of worship, so we can meet current requirements.  Our priority is on reopening for worship safely, by reducing risks to a minimum.  We will continue to review the situation and make any necessary changes quickly.  Please speak to one of the Welcome Team or your Elder if you have any thoughts to share.
